Today the youth team Jash Time held an exhibition of paintings devoted to the problem of gender inequality in Tokmok
Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but also a necessary foundation for peace, prosperity and sustainable development.
The participants looked at the paintings, after which there was a discussion where everyone was able to talk about their impressions and emotions and share their thoughts and point of view!
"Often in the Kyrgyz Republic there is violence against the female gender and they keep quiet, they keep quiet because they are afraid of people's condemnation or they are pressured by phrases like "don't tell anyone, it will be shameful" - noted the participant
"When men are beaten, they also think about condemnation, in their mind comes: "I should not write statements, I'm a man and I have to fight back myself, sort it out myself". - noted the participant
The "Diversity in Action" initiative is implemented by the "Jash Time" team with the support of the PA RCRS and the NCP Search for Common Interests as part of the project "Strengthening the rule of law and support of freedom of religion in Kyrgyzstan.
