"Religious Literacy: The Path We Follow" Guidebook


“Religious Literacy: The Path We Follow” is complimenting the first guidebook “How to Start an Interreligious Dialogue”. The guidebook is designed to engage a broad spectrum of readers, encompassing youth and a general readership. It comprises six chapters, each structured to cover essential elements of religious literacy, the right to freedom of religion and belief, and media literacy. The content within these chapters is carefully selected to equip readers with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective public engagement.


The guidebook additionally includes a chapter dedicated to showcasing examples of effective media campaigns and initiatives. This chapter incorporates media campaigns and initiatives that were successfully implemented by participants across the three phases of the "Unity in Diversity" program, significantly enriching the guidebook's content. This chapter serves as both a practical model and a source of inspiration for the readers and future project participants. Importantly, the guidebook also provides practical skills, specifically detailing the procedures for initiating and executing initiatives and media campaigns.



The publication of this guidebook was prepared by the Research Center for Religious Studies within the framework of the project "Unity in Diversity: Youth in the Multi-confessional Environment of Kyrgyzstan", with support from the Democratic Commission of the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.
